What is Equine Facilitated Coaching

What is Equine Facilitated Coaching?

What is Equine Facilitated Coaching, firstly we must first understand what coaching is and then fully understand the added value of Equine Facilitated Coaching.

Coaching is described by the Professional Coaches & Mentoring Association as:

‘Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential. Coaching is an on-going relationship, which focuses on clients taking action toward the realisation of their visions, goals or desires. Coaching uses a process of enquiry and personal discovery to build the clients level of awareness and responsibility and provides the client with structure, support and feedback. The coaching process helps clients both define and achieve professional and personal goals faster and with more ease than would be possible otherwise.’

What is Equine Facilitated Coaching

Equine Facilitated Coaching adds the dimension of the horse. By using the traditional world of coaching and bringing into it the powerful presence of a reactionary animal, the coaching session can be accelerated.

The horse is only capable of honest reflections back to the client. They can also provide visual feedback that shows the client how their psychological state maybe a part of any dynamic they are in.

Equine Facilitated Coaching is a powerful catalyst for change and needs to be treated with respect, keeping both the clients and horses physically and emotional safe at all times.

Our Equine Facilitated Coaches take clients through a robust contracting stage so they know how we work, expectations of each other and how to stay safe.

We follow a strict confidentiality policy and will agree this at the beginning of the session.
