Hill Top Farm is the location for Learning to Listens DFES registered school. Our priority is to connect with pupils, enabling them to settle and become part of the farm's community.

They study, work and socialise in an environment naturally conducive to learning. Our approach is unique, relaxed and based within peaceful surroundings.

Our methods and training techniques are well established and the school enjoys a high success rate. All of our past pupils have been successfully re-integrated into mainstream schools or the work place. Learning to listen aims to nurture all pupils. We encourage them to learn by enquiry and research, problem solving, decision making and careful planning.

Progress and achievement are monitored and affirmed by praise and reward. Carefully understood codes of conduct create a framework for good order and behaviour. We offer work related learning providing varied practical work in a healthy environment. We believe this to be essential in preparing young people for the transition from school through to the workplace.

We also cater for students able to engage in a more academic curriculum and offer 8 GCSE subjects. The balance offered between vocational work and an academic curriculum increases participation and motivation amongst the students.

Learning to Listen can accommodate students who are struggling in mainstream education and require further support with Learning. We tailor our placements to suit the individual need of the pupil.

If needed there is the possibility of residential accommodation provided by a nearby centre. Placements can be funded by the LEA or privately and are available for children aged 13 - 19 years.
