Kids Camp
View our forthcoming Kids Camps.
Bored? You won’t be. Just “Mosey” on down to our fun filled, fact packed and adrenaline fuelled kids camps, which are held throughout the year, during those hard to fill school holidays.
Here at Learning to Listen, we cater for all ages and abilities from five to seventeen years, beginner to advanced rider/handler.
Our aim is to provide an exciting but above all, safe environment in which each child can gain confidence in their own abilities, expand their knowledge of horses and horsemanship and begin to release their true potential.
Each camp lasts for three days where the children sleep in tents, horseboxes or caravans on our picturesque farm. Meals are provided, along with 24 hour care and supervision.
The camps are run over five levels where the children can work up to our accredited Learning to Listen Partnership Certificate:
Level One
Round pen work, inside herding work, basic obstacle work, tacking up, stable and field management, small hacks out, (on lead rein if necessary),with a small demonstration on the last day.
Level Two
Round pen work, herding work outside on grass, obstacle work to include water, medical checks, tacking up, field and stable management, boot and rug usage and hacks out to include some faster work. Concluding with a small demonstration on the last day.
Level Three
Round pen work with two different horses, herding work with two different horses, obstacles to include water and flapping objects (ridden), two hour hacks to include water, hills and cantering, introduction to loading and a final day demonstration.
Level Four
All as above but also to ride different horses, ride own horse in the round pen without reins (yielding work), learning the language of the horse in theory and practical, two hour hacks to include river rides, bush-beating, sheep herding and group canters.
Level Five

Certificates of completion will be awarded at each level and completion of all five levels will result in the awarding of the Learning To Listen Partnership Certificate accredited by Lantra Awards.
Other activities include barbecues, picnics, quizzes and treasure hunts. C’mon young dudes, we can’t wait to meet you.
